An 'Independent Winemakers' Wine-Tasting Event for London Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Earlier this week, I hosted a captivating and enriching wine-tasting event for the Chamber of Commerce for 50 small business owners from around the city! A tasting with the theme of 'independent winemakers' and sharing stories about their journeys and independent journeys in the world of wine, which all made for a unique and inspiring evening.

As the founder of Elizabeth & Wine, with 15 years of experience in hospitality and sommelier expertise, I shared my story, adding a personal touch to the event. Sharing how I navigated the challenges of the events of business collapse during COVID-19 and successfully pivoted my company, Elizabeth & Wine demonstrating the resilience of independent founders.

One of the highlights of the event was featuring Chandon, a well-known wine brand, and unravelling the story of Anna, the entrepreneur behind 'Chandon Garden Spritz.' The audience must have been captivated by Anna's journey of determination, spending four years and experimenting with 64 different versions to create the perfect blend, revolutionizing the spritz market. Her process of trial and error resonated with the small business owners present, who understand the importance of perseverance in the pursuit of excellence.

Another fascinating winemaker you showcased was Francesca from the Planetta Family winery in Sicily. The winery's rich history, having withstood numerous crises in winemaking over the last century, is a testament to the family's commitment and love for their craft. Flying the flag for Sicily, the Planetta Family's dedication and passion undoubtedly struck a chord with the audience, instilling a sense of pride in local and traditional winemaking practices.

Andrea from Mullins Wine in California, who pursued her dream of making South African wine, highlighted the sacrifices small business owners make to chase their aspirations. Her family's support and willingness to uproot their lives for her passion exemplified the risk-taking nature of entrepreneurship. The audience must have been moved by her story, finding inspiration in her pursuit of excellence in winemaking.

Overall, the wine-tasting event painted a vivid picture of the dedication, determination, and resilience of independent winemakers from around the world - a relatable topic for the audience. It was an evening filled with passion, stories of trials and triumphs, and a celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit. The attendees surely left with a newfound appreciation for the artistry and craftsmanship behind each bottle of wine and the powerful impact of perseverance and passion in small business endeavours.

I thoroughly enjoy theming an event around the appreciation for the art and science of winemaking and inspiring many to pursue their own dreams with unwavering dedication in the world of wine.
